Tim Jackson

Director

I started my law career in the early 1990’s graduating LLB (Hons) from Otago University. My career included a period at the Crown Solicitor’s office as well as management and consulting roles. I specialise in criminal, employment and civil litigation. In litigation the lawyer’s role is not confined to case preparation and courtroom skills but requires a holistic approach including risk management.

Nina Mackay

Director

I am originally from Nelson but have worked in Timaru since 2001. I have extensive experience in rural, commercial and residential conveyancing including subdivisions, estate planning and trust formation and administration. I have 17 year’s experience in the law and bring sound realistic advice to clients as well as leading the commercial team at JMJ Lawyers.

Chris Jones

Director

I have had a varied working life with roles such as freezing worker, lambing shepherd, tractor driver , blade shearer, factory worker, barman, business owner and real estate agent. I completed my Law degree in 2004, took a break to help raise family and then entered Law full time. I specialise in Conveyancing (with Property Planit) and Relationship property.

Neil Dickson

General Manager

Originally from Wanganui I completed a B Technology (BioTech) from Massey University. I moved to South Canterbury in the late 80’s to work in manufacturing and exporting, being involved in technical, production and senior management. I have been with the Law firm for 5 years and bring extensive management experience to the role.

Felicity Tewnion

Lawyer

Originally from Christchurch I moved to Timaru and was admitted to the bar in 2014. I work primarily in the area of family law, helping clients through the court process, including day to day care, guardianship disputes, paternity, adoption, protection orders, relationship property and matters concerning Oranga Tamariki.

Codi Lilley

Lawyer

Timaru is my hometown although I left to complete my law degree at Otago University. After being admitted in 2017 I joined JMJ Lawyers full time (then Quentin Hix Legal).

My interests are in Litigation, primarily criminal, family and employment, whether private or legally aided.

I moved to Christchurch in 2009 where I completed my tertiary education at Canterbury University with a double degree in Law and Arts (double major, psychology and sociology).

My current area of practice is in general litigation with a focus on Employment.

Trust Account Administration

I moved to South Canterbury from Auckland in 2000 and have been involved in Law firms since that time. I am a qualified Legal Executive.

Although I have been involved in many administrative areas of the Law firm, my expertise is in Trust Account Administration, a position I hold at JMJ Lawyers. I have 20 year’s experience in the legal profession.

Estate Administration

I have worked in a number of administrative and management roles over the past few years including Trust account administration. My current role at JMJ Lawyers is as Estate administrator and overseeing our ON-LINE services.

I am originally from Dunedin but did my secondary schooling in Timaru. I completed a Bachelor of Applied Management (Accounting) at Otago Polytechnic. My current role involves administration and organisation for the Litigation team but I am also involved in other administration tasks within the business. I am currently completing a Legal Executive qualification.

Born in South Africa I moved to South Canterbury in 2008 having had a background in the legal fraternity in SA.

I am involved in administration with JMJ Lawyers but my primary task is to organise and manage our Deeds and support the Commercial team.

I am originally from Timaru having completed a Bachelor of Business qualification in recent years. I am involved in a range of admin tasks and likely to be the first point of contact when clients ring or visit the business.

I have over 20 years’ experience working in law offices and when it comes to buying and selling homes know the important issues. I have had extensive experience in conveyancing and associated issues such as Kiwi saver and Home start grants. I like to take a practical approach to getting things done for you.

Angela Chambers

Legal Executive

I have worked in law firms in the South Canterbury area for over 20 years having been born and raised in lovely Geraldine. During that time I gained significant experience in Conveyancing (buying and selling of homes), Wills, Powers of Attorney and the administration of Trust accounts. I enjoy direct contact with clients and seeing their wishes fulfilled.

I have worked in local law firms for the past 7 years, having a prior background in administration and accounting. Conveyancing is my passion; I love to see the process evolve from start to finish, and seeing delighted clients move into their new abode.
